April "DD" Bilinski
No, 'DD' is NOT my breast size. Unfortunetely it stands for 'designated driver', a name given to me by both my boyfriend ('Chef') and my father (Bo). I am the one who gets to drive their drunken asses home after the game! Lucky me!
Anyways, my full name is April LYNN Bilinski. Although 'Lynn' is a pretty common middle name, my mom swears she named me after her favorite Steelers player, Lynn Swann. Here is some information about me:
Birthdate: January 19, 1980; the day before the Steelers won the 1979 Superbowl
Currently lives in Swissvale, PA
Occupation: Registered Dietitian and student. I am going for my Masters in Nutrition and Wellness, and hope to become certified as a Personal Trainer before the end of the year.
How I became a Hellgater: I was really born into being a die-hard Steelers fan-at birth, actually. I watched a Steeler superbowl victory at age 1 DAY. My parents had been going to the games as season ticket holders for more than 30 years until recently, where I am starting the 'Hellgaters' tradition for this generation. When I was growing up (and still to this day), EVERYTHING was about the Steelers. I grew up around so much memorabilia that there was no choice but to be a Steeler fan-especially when you saw how much it meant to your parents.
My parents and a group of their friends started the Hellgaters in 1970-something. They had a lot of CRAZY times, and we hope to tell them and carry them on through our website. Now, it is a new generation, and we need young die-hard fans to carry on the crazy tailgate tradition.
Favorite player: Ben Roethlisberger *Best moment of this past summer was at Latrobe frield where he came right up to me out of thousands of people and signed my #7 jersey! !!!!!!*
Favorite Tailgate moment: had to be last year: Ravens vs. Steelers. Marty brought a bunch of dead crows - we strung them up and marched around. We even went over to WDVE and Botti got on the radio. It was priceless =)
